2024 Small Business Profiles for the States, Territories, and Nation

Advocacy’s annual State Profiles gather the latest federal economic data into state-by-state snapshots of small business economic activity.

The 2024 State Profiles contain data gathered after the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Three topic areas – business dynamics, small business loans, and small business exports – are analyzed during this time period. The profiles also present further data about small business openings and closings after the pandemic as well as changes to employment.

The 2024 State Profiles answer questions like:

  • How many small businesses are in my state?
  • How many people do small businesses employ?
  • How many jobs do they create?

The files below contain the 50 individual state profiles, plus profiles for the United States, District of Columbia, and the U.S. Territories.
