Advocacy Comments on CPSC’s Proposal to Establish Safety Standards for Clothing Storage Units

On April 18, 2022, the Office of Advocacy (Advocacy) submitted comments to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) regarding the proposed rule for establishing safety standards for clothing storage units. Both Advocacy and small businesses are concerned for the safety of children with respect to CSU tip-over accidents. While child safety is paramount, Advocacy asked CPSC to consider reasonable modifications to the proposed rule that would ease the burden on small businesses while still meeting the Commission’s stated objectives.
