DOI Extends Comment Period on Proposed Rule on Outer Continental Shelf Blow-Out Preventer Systems and Well Control Revisions

On July 5, 2018, the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) published a notice to extend the comment period for a proposed rule that would revise requirements for well design, well control, casing, cementing, real-time monitoring (RTM), and subsea containment. BSEE states that the rule may have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities. The new comment period deadline is August 6, 2018.
