NOAA Seeks Comments on Proposed Expansion of Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary

On May 1, 2020, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a proposed rule to expand the current boundaries of the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary to include 14 additional reefs in the Gulf of Mexico. The agency has announced that in addition to soliciting written comments it will host three virtual public hearings on June 8 (two sessions) and June 11, 2020. Written comments are due by July 3, 2020.
