On March 11, 2019, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) published an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking to seek comment on changes to the Coastal Zone Management Act process. Specifically, the agency seeks comment on what changes could be made to improve federal consistency and make the regulatory process more efficient for oil, gas, and renewable energy leasing projects. The agency is seeking specific comment on the costs that may be incurred by small entities if the proposed revisions were to become final. Written comments are due by April 25, 2019.
