DOE Seeks Comments on Changes to Energy Efficiency Standards for Direct Heating Equipment

On February 26, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy published a request for information relating to energy efficiency standards for direct heating equipment. Direct heating equipment refers to gas wall heaters, floor heaters, and room heaters. Direct heating products do not use ducts to move heated air throughout a home, but provide heat in the area where they are installed. The Agency seeks to determine whether these standards should be modified, or whether the existing standards are enough to provide energy savings. Interested parties may comment on any subject within the scope of the request. Written comments are due by April 12, 2019.
