Pursuant to Executive Order 13771, “Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs” and Executive Order 13783, “Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth”, the United States Department of Energy (DOE) is requesting information to assist in identifying existing regulations that should be modified or repealed.
DOE requests comments on several questions including the following:
- Regulations that do not make sense, or are otherwise unnecessary, ineffective, ill-advised or outdated.
- Rules or reporting requirements that are unnecessarily complicated or have been overtaken by technological improvements or updates.
- Rules that unnecessarily obstruct, delay, curtail or impose significant costs on siting, permitting, production, utilization, transmission or delivery of energy resources.
- Existing sources of data that DOE should consider regarding costs, burdens, and benefits of existing regulations.
