What: On April 7, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a proposed rule to change and update the policies and payment rates used under the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) for fiscal year 2027. This proposed rule also updates the requirements for the SNF Quality Reporting Program and the SNF Value-Based Purchasing Program.
Why: CMS seeks comments on the proposed rule’s impacts on skilled nursing facilities related to compliance, reporting, and data submissions.
