HHS Publishes Request for Information Seeking Public Input on Unnecessary Regulations that Should be Eliminated or Revised

What: On May 13, 2025, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published a Request for Information (RFI) seeking public comment that identifies unnecessary regulations that are outdated or that should be eliminated pursuant to President Trump’s Executive Order 14192.

Why: HHS seeks comments on existing regulations, guidance, paperwork requirements, and other regulatory obligations that can be modified or repealed, consistent with law. HHS seeks to ensure that its administrative actions do not undermine the national interest, and it achieves meaningful burden reduction while continuing to meet statutory obligations and ensure the safety of the U.S. health care system.

Action: HHS’s request for information on regulatory review and reform is available in the Federal Register. Comments to HHS are due by July 13, 2025.
