Office of Advocacy Appoints Chip Bishop to Serve as Deputy Chief Counsel
WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Office of Advocacy in the U.S. Small Business Administration is pleased to announce Chip Bishop has been appointed to serve as the Deputy Chief Counsel in the Office of Advocacy. As Deputy Chief Counsel, Bishop will oversee the efforts of the office to ensure the needs of small businesses are met in the regulatory process.
Bishop is an accomplished economist with ample federal experience. Since 2022, he served as the economics unit chief and chief economist at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of Regulatory Affairs and Policy, where he led research on regulatory issues. Bishop also served for seven years at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he served on a detail as the economics staff director to lead regulatory analysis efforts. He also served on details at the Office of Management and Budget and the Department of Labor, expanding his knowledge of regulatory affairs.
