GSA Requests Nominations for New Committee on Open Government

On April 26, 2024, the General Services Administration (GSA) published a notice in the Federal Register requesting nominations for the newly created Open Government Federal Advisory Committee (OG FAC).

The OG FAC will be comprised of no less than ten (10) and no more than twenty (20) federal and non-federal members. GSA is seeking nominees with expertise in the following areas:

  • Access to Information;
  • Anti-Corruption;
  •  Civic Space
  •  Climate and Environment;
  •  Digital Governance
  •  Fiscal Openness;
  •  Gender and Inclusion;
  •  Justice;
  •  Media Freedom;
  •  Public Participation; and
  •  Improving the delivery of government services and benefits.

The GSA Administrator will appoint all members. Members will serve one (1) to three (3) year terms. No member will serve for more than six (6) consistent years. The OG FAC will meet at least four times per year.

The GSA will also hold a public webinar on May 10, 2024, at 1:00 ET to answer questions about the OG FAC member selection process and timeline.

Nominations to the OG FAC must be submitted by May 28, 2024.
