National Academies Seeks Nominations to New Committee on Offshore Wind Energy and Fisheries

On October 26, 2022, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) announced the formation of a National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) standing committee on offshore wind energy and fisheries.

The purpose of the standing committee will be to engage in discussions and the exchange of information on topics of interest to BOEM, provide assessments of gaps in research and data, and provide stakeholders with understanding and insights on issues pertaining to offshore wind energy development.

NASEM seeks nominations for individuals to serve on this committee including scientists, stakeholders related to offshore wind development, fisheries, non-governmental organizations, community representatives, and others.  

Nominations are due by November 9, 2022.
