Advocacy Recommends Considering Small Businesses in Council on Environmental Quality’s Environmental Justice Scorecard
On October 3, 2022, the Office of Advocacy (Advocacy) submitted public comments to the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) on the development of its Environmental Justice Scorecard, used to evaluate how federal agencies are achieving environmental justice goals. Because business ownership can increase wealth equality, Advocacy encourages CEQ to evaluate federal agencies’ success in reducing barriers experienced by small entity entrepreneurs in disadvantaged communities in the Environmental Justice Scorecard. Advocacy also recommends CEQ engage directly with small entities in disadvantaged communities to understand the unique burdens they face.
