Cybersecurity for Small Business Pilot Grant Funding

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was recently authorized by Congress to provide grant money to states and other government bodies to bolster small business cybersecurity. The notice of funding opportunity application is now available. A recent FAQ on the grant highlighted the following:

  • SBA will allow multiple states or territories to submit a unified application together.
  • State Governors (or equivalents) designate any lead organizations for application purposes.  Designations must be submitted to SBA and designees must be in good standing to receive Federal funding.
  • The period of performance for any awards will be 12 months.
  • Applicants should align their service proposals toward new entrepreneurs (who own business less than 3 years old).

The deadline for the grant application is Thursday, March 3.
