DOI Seeks Comments on Coastal Plains Oil and Gas Leasing Program in Alaska

On April 20, 2018 the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management published a notice of intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Coastal Plains Oil and Gas Leasing Program in Alaska. The EIS will inform BLM’s implementation of the program including which areas to offer for sale and terms and conditions. The Agency seeks information to help determine the scope of issues to be addressed and identify significant issues related to implementing a leasing program in the areas specified.  The Bureau plans to hold public scoping meetings in several locations within Alaska, to be announced at a later date. Written comments are due by June 19, 2018.
