The Capitol Hill Connection for the Week of July 11

THIS WEEK

The House starts its week with the fiscal 2012 Energy-Water spending bill. At the close of the week it could turn to the Financial Services measure.

Also on tap are a bill to overhaul flood insurance programs and allow states more autonomy with water quality standards.

The Senate votes Monday on a motion to proceed to a non-binding bill on deficit reduction, which could become a legislative vehicle for a number of amendments.

Several other appropriations bills will see House committee action during the week.
