What: On June 4, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published several fact sheets related to the bidding and award procedures for the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program (CBP).
Why: In accordance with the Social Security Act, one of the CMS fact sheets focused on small supplier considerations to ensure small suppliers have an opportunity to be considered for participation in the Medicare DMEPOS CBP contracts. The fact sheet considerations include a small supplier target, with at least thirty percent of the contracts offered to suppliers that generate less than $3.5 million in gross revenues. The fact sheet also details eligibility requirements and the ability for small suppliers to network with other bidders to meet DMEPOS CBP qualifications.
Action: Review the DMEPOS CBP timeline for more information.
