Office of Advocacy Appoints David Tokarz to Serve as Director of Information

WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Office of Advocacy (Advocacy) in the U.S. Small Business Administration is pleased to announce David Tokarz has been appointed to serve as the Director of the Office of Information. The Office of Information presents the public face of Advocacy and works to execute Advocacy’s communications and outreach efforts at the direction of the chief counsel. As director, Tokarz will manage the day-to-day operations of the office and oversee production and distribution of Advocacy products and materials.

Tokarz started in Advocacy in February 2020 as an editor and served as senior editor beginning in November 2021. While at Advocacy, Tokarz has worked with Advocacy staff to modernize the Office of Information and ensure the strongest possible outreach efforts. He earned his PhD in communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in August 2019.

“David has been a critical member of the Office of Advocacy for the past several years,” said Deputy Chief Counsel Major L. Clark III. “He has worked diligently to make Advocacy’s outreach efforts more successful, and we look forward to his continued efforts on behalf of America’s small businesses.”
