USDA Reopens Comment Period on Proposed Rule to Amend Origin of Livestock Requirements for Organic Dairy Animals
On May 12, 2021 the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), published a notice reopening the comment period, and updating a proposed rule that would amend origin of livestock requirements for dairy animals under existing organic regulations. AMS is seeking comments on updates to the proposal, including whether to prohibit the movement of transitioned cows as part of the final rule. Written comments are due by July 12, 2021.
