DOE Reopens Comment Period on Proposed Rule for Energy Conservation Standards for External Power Supplies

On May 20, 2020 the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) published a request for information to determine whether to amend current energy conservation standards for external power supplies. DOE requested comments and information to determine whether amended standards would result in significant energy savings and whether the amendments were technologically feasible and economically justified. Comments were due on July 6, 2020. At the request of several industry stakeholders, DOE is now reopening that comment period. Written comments are now due by August 24, 2020.
