What: On May 12, 2025, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) issued a request for information on the key challenges and barriers faced by community banks in the adoption and implementation of digital banking solutions.
Why: The OCC is seeking input from community banks, industry groups, technology providers, and other interested stakeholders on the key challenges and barriers faced by community banks in adopting and implementing the use of technology strategies and initiatives. For example, the OCC wants information on the primary challenges community banks face in digitalization, how community banks’ boards of directors oversee and support digitalization, what types of upfront and ongoing costs community banks face, and how regulatory and compliance requirements impact decision-making on digitalization.
