EPA Extends Comment Deadline for 2026 Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit

What: On April 21, 2025, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a notice extending the comment deadline for the proposed 2026 multi-sector general permit (MSGP) for stormwater discharges from industrial activities.

Why: The EPA originally published the proposed MSGP on December 13, 2024. The permit will replace the 2021 MSGP and covers 30 different industrial sectors.

Action: Comments on the proposed 2026 MSGP are now due May 19, 2025.
