Lost in Translation: The Effects of Language on Business Ownership and Outreach

According to the 2022 American Community Survey, more than 100 languages are spoken throughout the United States. While most business owners have some level of English proficiency, many self-employed individuals in America are likely to speak more than one language. Here, we review data about the most frequently used languages by entrepreneurs and explore the impact language has on both business ownership and outreach.
