WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Office of Advocacy in the U.S. Small Business Administration is pleased to announce Janea Jamison has been named Region 6 Advocate. Representing Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico, Jamison will be the link between western small businesses and the Office of Advocacy.
Jamison has over ten years of public service experience. She has developed statewide engagement efforts and created impact through programming and organizational leadership. Her most recent position was leading programming strategies for the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice, a Louisiana non-profit centered on social justice work. Previously, Jamison was Legislative Assistant to Councilwoman Erika L. Green (D-5) and Court System Supervisor in Assumption Parish under the leadership of Mayor Ron Animashaun.
“We are excited to have Janea Jamison join the Office of Advocacy,” said Deputy Chief Counsel Major L. Clark III. “Janea is a passionate and driven community advocate, and we look forward to her leadership in Region 6.”

The Office of Advocacy has regional advocates in each of the 10 federal regions. This team identifies new issues and concerns of small business owners. They work closely with local government officials, state officials and legislators, and the Chief Counsel for Advocacy to develop programs and policies that support small business growth.
