Advocacy to Host a Regulatory Reform Roundtable and a NAFTA Outreach Meeting for Small Businesses in Atlanta

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, April 10th, the Office of Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration will host a Regulatory Reform Roundtable at 8:30 a.m. with a special focus on environmental regulatory issues at 2:00 p.m. The roundtable will be held at the GTRI Conference Center, 205 14th Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. On Wednesday, April 11th, Advocacy will hold a NAFTA Modernization Outreach meeting at 9:00 a.m. for small business owners to attend and give input. The meeting will be located at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, 75 5th Street Northwest, 10th floor, Atlanta, GA 30308.

  1. Regulatory Reform Roundtable – Tuesday, April 10th  8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,  Environmental Regulatory Issues 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The purpose of this event is to gain valuable insight into which specific federal regulatory burdens present the biggest barriers to small business growth. With these recommendations, Advocacy can better assist federal agencies in complying with President Trump’s directives to reduce burdensome regulations. Additionally, information compiled from this roundtable and others will help Advocacy generate a new report informing Congress and the public of the top regulatory issues for small businesses.

  1. NAFTA Modernization Outreach Meeting –  Wednesday, April 11th  9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Office of Advocacy is writing a report for Congress on the views of small business on the potential economic effects of a renegotiated NAFTA. In order for this outreach effort to be successful, we need small business participation. This will be an opportunity for small business leaders to educate Advocacy and federal agencies through first-hand accounts of how they have been impacted by NAFTA.
