CFPB’s Proposed Rule to Revise Provisions of Section 1071 Small Business Lending Rule Roundtable – November 25, 2025

The Office of Advocacy will host a virtual roundtable in the financial sector on November 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM ET on the Microsoft Teams platform. The discussion will focus on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) proposed revisions to Section 1071 of the Small Business Lending Rule.

The CFPB believes the proposed revisions would streamline the rule, reduce complexity for lenders, and improve data quality. Advocacy seeks comments on all the proposed revisions, including the coverage of certain credit transactions, the inclusion and collection of certain data points, the compliance date, and the small business definition.
