Small Business Transportation Sector Roundtable – Wednesday, April 16, 2025

What: The Office of Advocacy has scheduled the next Small Business Transportation Sector Roundtable to discuss the Department of Transportation’s Request for Information (RFI) on regulatory review and reform and invites you to participate.

Why: Per DOT’s Federal Register notice, DOT seeks comments on existing regulations, guidance, paperwork requirements, and other regulatory obligations that can be modified or repealed, consistent with law. DOT seeks to ensure that its administrative actions do not undermine the national interest and achieves meaningful burden reduction while continuing to meet statutory obligations and ensure the safety of the U.S. transportation system.

Action: Comments on the RFI are due to DOT by May 5, 2025.

The Office of Advocacy takes its direction from small business and hosts roundtables to receive input on what issues are of greatest importance. We need your help, as representatives of small business, to identify regulatory reform candidates in the transportation sector which are of key importance to small business.

Advocacy is an independent government office responsible for advancing the views of small businesses in the regulatory policy across the federal government. We conduct roundtables to hear the experiences, challenges, and recommendations of small businesses, and identify alternative approaches for policy development at federal regulatory agencies. Our roundtables are largely held online, to facilitate the attendance of stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds, industries, and geographic regions.

Roundtable meetings are open to all interested persons and are intended to facilitate an open and frank discussion about issues of interest to small business. These meetings are off the record and not intended for press purposes. Direct quotations of presenters or attendees may not be used without direct written approval of the person(s) making the statement. All press inquiries should be sent to Chandler Baxter at chandler.baxter@sba.gov. Agendas and presentations are available to all. If you need accommodations for a disability to participate in the roundtable, please contact Bruce Lundegren at bruce.lundegren@sba.gov for assistance.
