EPA Extends Deadline on PFAS Reporting Rule
On September 5, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a notice in the Federal Register extending the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) reporting and recordkeeping deadlines for perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The original reporting date for the rule was November 12, 2024. EPA has now extended the deadline by eight months to July 11, 2025.
In 2023, EPA published a rule requiring any entity that manufactures or has manufactured PFAS chemical substances since January 1, 2011, to electronically report information regarding PFAS uses, production volumes, disposal, exposures, and hazards. The rule also applies to importers of PFAS chemical substances or articles containing PFAS chemical substances.
