EPA seeks information on small entities operating pyrolysis and gasification units
On September 8, EPA published an Advance Notice of Rulemaking requesting comment to assist in the development of possible regulations of emissions from pyrolysis and gasification units under the Clean Air Act. Pyrolysis and gasification are often described as heat induced thermal decomposition processes, and they are used to convert a variety of solid wastes into energy, fuel and other useful byproducts.
EPA also needs information about small entities that operate these units. This includes small businesses and small governmental jurisdictions (defined by a population of less than 50,000).
