FTC Extends Public Comment Period for Review of Children’s Online Privacy Rules
On October 22, 2019, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) published a Federal Register Notice extending the deadline for filing comments on its implementation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). The FTC is seeking comments to ensure that its COPPA rules have kept up with marketplace, technology, and business model changes that have occurred since the FTC’s last review of the COPPA rules in 2013. Comments are now due on December 9, 2019.
