CPSC Seeks Comments on Amendments to Safety Standards for Walk-Behind Power Lawn Mowers
On April 9, 2019, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a request for comment in response to a petition for rulemaking requesting amendments to safety standards for walk-behind power lawn mowers. The petitioners are requesting a revision to the warning label requirements, to allow for pictorial-only warnings as an alternative to the current warning label for reel-type and rotary power mowers. Petitioners state that the pictorial-only warning will be easier to understand for consumers and will globally harmonize the warning for all consumers. Written comments are due by June 10, 2019.
