DOI Seeks Comments on Draft Candidate Conservation Agreement for Monarch Butterfly
On April 15, 2019, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) published a notice of availability and request for comments on an application for a candidate conservation agreement with assurances for the monarch butterfly. The agreement implements a voluntary conservation strategy for energy and transportation activities on habitat where the monarch butterfly, a covered species, exists. The FWS requests information and comments from the public on information related to the agreement, as well as its adequacy. Written comments are due by June 14, 2019.
