Notice of Open Season for Recruitment of IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel Members
On April 4, 2019, The Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued a notice inviting individuals to apply for membership of the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP). The TAP identifies issues that affect taxpayers and makes suggestions for improving IRS service and customer satisfaction. The TAP serves as an advisory body to the Secretary of the Treasury, the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, and the Nation Taxpayer Advocate. TAP members come from each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Additionally, there is one member who represents international taxpayers. The IRS is seeking members from the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Applications will be accepted from April 8, 2019, through May 3, 2019.
