SBA Advocacy Financial Issues Roundtable, Aug 4, 2017

The SBA Office of Advocacy will host a Small Business Roundtable on August 4, 2017 from 10:00 A.M until 12 noon on Section 1071 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act). Section 1071 amends the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) to require financial institutions to compile, maintain, and report information concerning credit applications made by women-owned, minority-owned, and small businesses. On May 15, 2017, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) published a request for information about the small business lending market. Additional information can be found at:

The roundtable will focus on the CFPB’s issues pertaining to small business lending. A copy of the tentative agenda is attached to this email.

The roundtable will be held at the U.S. Small Business Administration, 409 Third Street, SW, Washington, DC. The CFPB has been invited to attend. In order to take advantage of this opportunity and obtain meaningful input, the Roundtable will focus on the issues raised in the documents above. As such, please be prepared to discuss these issues and provide data that supports your views. Please note that this is an open meeting. Please feel free to circulate this notice to your colleagues.
