Janea C. Jamison is a seasoned senior public sector leader with expertise in strategic planning, partnerships, policy and advocacy, coalition building, and communications. Throughout her career, she has focused on enhancing equity for underserved communities in civic engagement, leadership, economic development, healthcare, and criminal justice reform in the Deep South.

Currently, Jamison is the Region 6 Advocate for the Office of Advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration, representing Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico. She acts as the vital connection between small businesses in these states and Advocacy’s Washington office, ensuring that their voices and needs are represented during the federal rule-making process.

Previously, she served as the director of programs at the Power Coalition for Equity & Justice, a social justice nonprofit in Louisiana, leading statewide advocacy campaigns and organizational growth efforts. Her experience in local governance includes serving as the legislative assistant to East Baton Rouge Metro Councilwoman Erika Green and as a court system supervisor in Assumption Parish under Mayor Ron Animashaun, focusing on constituent relations and youth development.

Jamison holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from Southern University and A&M College. She has also completed an executive certificate in Strategy Execution for Public Leadership from Harvard University.
