Color Palette

The Office of Advocacy adheres to SBA brand guidelines for our products. The most important of these brand guidelines are fonts and colors.

Fonts

The primary fonts used by the Office of Advocacy are Source Sans Pro and Merriweather. Advocacy templates have Source Sans Pro and Merriweather pre-loaded and placed, as necessary. Individual staffers are encouraged to use the fonts as they see fit. If there are any questions about visual design, please contact Visual Information and Web Specialist Keisha White.

If you are on a computer that does not have Source Sans Pro or Merriweather uploaded, and you cannot reach the Office of Information to switch type fonts, please use Helvetica Neue in place of Source Sans Pro, and Georgia in place of Merriweather. Use of these fonts over Source Sans Pro or Merriweather should be approved by the Office of Information.

Colors

The following colors are Office of Information approved colors for all products and infographics. The dark blue and white are primary Advocacy colors. Use of any color not on this list should be approved by the Office of Information.

Color Accessibility

Note that the SBA Gray (Hex value: #969696) should not be used for text or as a background for white text. An alternative dark gray (Hex value: #686868) may be used in such instances.

All font and/background color combinations must at least meet the WCAG AA level contrast ratio for that text size. For more information, visit WebAIM’s Contrast Checker.

Advocacy uses two additional colors mainly for decorative purposes due to their lighter contrasts of blue – Hex: #83DCFF and Hex: #CFF6FF.
