On April 21, 2023, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service published an advance notice of proposed rulemaking and request for comments regarding climate resilience efforts. The agency is requesting comments and feedback on how it can adapt current policies to manage national forests for climate resilience. Through the notice, the Service is also sharing a beta version of its Forest Service Climate Risk Viewer for public feedback. According to the Service this data illustrates climate exposure vulnerabilities in various regions. The Service is requesting comments on several questions related to these topics.
Written comments on the notice are due by June 20, 2023.
