Immigrant employer ownership increased from 15.08 percent in 2012 to 19.03 percent in 2020. At the same time, the share of foreign-born workers increased from 7.29 percent to 8.6 percent. For most business owner demographic categories, the share of immigrant employers is higher than the share of U.S.-born employers.
