Army Corps Seeks Comments on Implementation of the National Levee Safety Program
On December 28, 2021, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Army Corps) issued a notice of solicitation of comments for implementation of the National Levee Safety Program under the National Levee Safety Act of 2007 (NLSA). The National Levee Safety Program aims to improve the way levees are managed in order to reduce disaster suffering and improve resiliency of communities behind levees. Army Corps seeks input from stakeholders on the purpose and scope of the National Levee Safety Program’s four components, including the National Levee Safety Guidelines, Integrated Levee Management, National Levee Database and Data Collection, and Implementation Support.
