DOE Seeks Comments on Withdrawal of Test Procedures for Conventional Cooking Tops

On August 9, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE) published a proposed rule to withdraw the energy efficiency test procedures for conventional cooking tops. The Agency states that the procedures may not accurately represent consumer use of the product or may not be reproducible for both gas and electric cooking tops. Written comments are due by October 8, 2019.
