EPA Announces Small Communities Advisory Subcommittee Meetings
On July 18, 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a series of meetings for the Small Communities Advisory Subcommittee (SCAS). All meetings will be open to the public.
The SCAS was established as an independently appointed subcommittee of the Local Government Advisory Committee by the EPA in 1996 to advise the EPA’s Administrator on environmental issues of concern to the residents of smaller communities.
The SCAS will discuss several priority issues at EPA and their implications on small communities. Topics will range from climate communication to environmental justice, and water issues.
Meetings will be held on the following dates (all times are ET):
- August 2 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- September 6 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- September 26 from 8:30 AM – 10:00 PM
- October 25 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- November 22 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- December 20 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
The September 26th meeting will be held both virtually and in person. Agendas and meeting materials will be posted on the Small Community Advisory Subcommittee page of epa.gov one week before each meeting.
