The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA, T-MEC in Mexico and CUSMA in Canada) went into force on July 1st replacing the North America Free Trade Agreement. Under USMCA, small businesses can decrease risks and increase predictability through requesting expanded USMCA Advance Rulings on how products will be treated at the border regarding tariff classification, customs valuation, origin of goods, and quotas. The SBA Office of International Trade is hosting Advance Ruling Webinars on October 20th (English) and October 21st (Spanish) featuring Canadian, Mexican and U.S. expert instruction on how to apply for and use advance rulings as an exporter, importer and/or a manufacturer.
