USDA Seeks Comments on Updates to Guidelines for Greenhouse Gas Emissions for Agriculture
On March 4, 2020 the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) published a request for public comment and relevant information and data to update the guidelines for quantifying greenhouse gas (GHG) sources and sinks from the agriculture and forestry sectors. USDA plans to update its technical guidelines within the next three years and is seeking comments on three main categories: (1) methods, practices and technologies for quantification of GHG emissions and carbon sequestration at the entity-scale for agriculture; (2) information to improve the rigor of the guidelines; and (3) information to improve the usability of the methods. Written comments are due by April 20, 2020.
