DOE Extends Deadline for Comments on Modifications to the Test Procedure Waiver Decision-Making Process
On May 1, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE) published a proposed rule to streamline the decision-making process for granting test procedure interim waivers. The proposed rule would require DOE to notify an applicant, in writing, of the disposition of an interim rule application within 30 business days of receipt of the application. If the agency fails to do so, the interim waiver would be deemed granted.
On July 11, 2019 DOE held a public webinar for interested stakeholders and extended the public comment period to July 15, 2019. Following the webinar several stakeholders requested additional time to submit comments and requested to see a copy of the transcript. The agency is therefore extending the comment period once again. Comments are now due by August 6, 2019, and a copy of the transcript from the public webinar is available in the docket.
