DOE Announces Webinar to Discuss Proposed Rule on Test-Procedure Waiver Process, Extends Comment Period

On May 1, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE) published a proposed rule to streamline the decision-making process for granting test procedure waivers; the rule as proposed would require the Department to notify, in writing, an applicant of the disposition within 30 business days of receipt of the application. If the agency fails to do so, the interim waiver would be deemed granted. The agency is requesting comments on these and other proposed modifications.

Subsequently on June 26, 2019, the Agency announced the scheduling of a webinar regarding the proposal to be held on July 11, 2019. Interested parties may register here.

Written comments are now due by July 15, 2019.
