TTB Modernization of Alcohol Labeling and Advertising Regulations
On November 26, 2018, the Department of the Treasury’s Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) published a proposed regulation to amend its rules governing labeling and advertising of wine, distilled spirits, and malt beverages. The proposed regulation would reorganize and recodify the labeling and advertising rules to simplify and clarify regulatory standards, incorporate guidance documents and current policy into the regulations, and, where possible, reduce the regulatory burden on the industry. TTB is certifying that the proposed regulation will not have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities and has extended the date to receive written comments to June 26, 2019.
