DOE Seeks Comments on Proposed Procedures for Use in New or Revised Energy Conservation Standards and Test Procedures for Consumer Products and Commercial/Industrial Equipment
On February 13, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE) announced a notice of proposed rulemaking to clarify the process rule that applies to the establishment of new or revised energy conservation standards for consumer products and commercial/industrial equipment. The rule would make these procedures binding on DOE, as well as expanding opportunities for public input on rulemaking activities. DOE will be holding a public hearing on the proposed rule on March 21, 2019. Written comments are due by April 15, 2019.
