On April 24, 2018 the Department of Energy published a request for comment on a petition for rulemaking to define a new product class for residential dishwashers. On March 21, 2018, the Department received a petition from Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), asking the Agency to initiate a rulemaking for a new product class for residential dishwashers with a cycle time of less than one hour from washing through drying. The Agency seeks information on the comments and information provided in the petition. Comments are due by June 25, 2018.
