CPSC Seeks Comments on the Internet of Things and Consumer Product Hazards
On March 27, 2018, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a notice of public hearing and request for comments on potential safety issues and hazards associated with internet-connected consumer products. Specifically CPSC seeks information on whether current regulations address safety hazards specific to connected devices, and how they can be improved or revised. The public hearing will take place on May 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Bethesda, Maryland. The deadline to request to speak at the hearing is May 2, 2018. Written comments will also be accepted until June 15, 2018.
