CPSC Seeks Comments on Existing Rules

Pursuant to its “Plan for Retrospective Review of Existing Rules” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) seeks public input on ways the Commission could reduce the burden of its existing rules, while still furthering its mission.

CPSC requests comments on several questions including the following:

  • Rules that are no longer justified.
  • Rules that are not sufficiently clear as to intended requirements and/or are no longer effective.
  • Rules that contribute to a cumulative burden or otherwise impose an economically significant burden, particularly to small business.
  • Rules for which the technology affected has changed or is no longer in use.
